What is the reason for the shadow appearing in a circle even though it is passed through another shaped object?
Introduction
Hello peoples, do you notice that the shadow of an image appears to be a circle when the source or the object move away from each other do you know what is the reason for that you should know that light is not only an electromagnetic wave it also carries information of the source for example astronomer found the property and shape of a star is by the light from the star it carries in the formation of the star. You can do it at the home also take a piece of paper cut it in what shape you want to take a torch light (source) place the torch stationary and move the paper initially it appears in what shape you cut then move the object away it appears in round shape
Reason
Now Imagine the experiment I said before instead of the torch we can use the sun now we compare it with a pinhole camera, here hole of the pinhole camera is the paper we have. On the screen of the camera, we get an image of an object. Now the object is the sun, which is round in shape and it has its own source of light. The shape we cut in the paper acts as the pinhole as I said before, compared to the size of the sun. What we get on the ground are numerous images of the sun, each corresponding to a different hole
Conclusion
When light rays travel a long distance they do so in a parallel line. Since the entire density of rays passes through the paper the shape of (sun) light corresponds to the shape of the prototype object from the light that emanates. Therefore the shape of the sun is a circle the shadow of the sunlight is also circular
